Safe lifting of plasterboard packs
Workers and the public in Melbourne recently had a lucky escape when a 2.5 tonne pack of plasterboard fell more than 25 storeys while it was being lifted by a tower crane.
Download the CFMEU Victoria Branch's ALERT for full details of the recommended lifting processes for plasterboard packs
- either with a lifting cage, or by choking the load, or with wrap strap and ring (as shown in photo).
Each of these methods must be considered on its merits, and the particular circumstances found on your site must be taken into consideration when choosing one of the three options.
