Lampson (Australia) Pty Ltd is a crane company specialising in large crawler cranes. Their yard is based in a busy industrial estate in Bassendean. Perth. Around 3:00pm on Monday 11^th January 2010, the CFMEU WA Branch was notified of an incident where a crane had fallen over and took out powerlines. 

The crane was in the process of lifting large outrigger pads weighing around 24 ton. It is not known what caused the crane to collapse at this point and investigations are continuing.

In the interim, any sites using pin jib 3900 and 4000 clutch drive Manitowoc cranes should conduct maintenance checks to ensure cranes are 100% fit to operate.
