The NT Sub-Branch is one of the newest branches of the CFMEU Construction Division, but is very active in protecting the rights and interests of members.

The CFMEU is an accepted part of the Construction Industry in the Territory, providing as much as possible a personal level of service and interaction. Improvements include better safety, redundancy and superannuation entitlements in Awards.

But there is still a long way to go and CFMEU NT Organisers are committed to working with members to bring NT Construction up to national standards in all aspects.

The CFMEU is a signatory to the Quarry Award in the Territory, so CFMEU NT also has many members in the quarry sector.

Some of the services provided by the NT Sub-Branch include:

• Representation on the job by effective and experienced union delegates.
• Union-negotiated collective agreements.
• Assistance with legal representation for workers compensation and unfair dismissal cases.
• Representation for small claims in the local Court.
• Assistance with recovering outstanding Superannuation and Redundancy payments, both local and inter-State.
• Facilitating access to training courses in areas such as occupational health and safety and delegates rights.
• Regular updates on Branch News through The Territorian in the ACT Branchs quarterly Building Worker.
• Discounted products for union members through Union Shopper.
